LEGEND OF THE GREEN RABBIT

The legend of the Green Rabbit dates back to the mid 17th century in and around the swamps of Eastern Europe. Travel during those times was extremely difficult and dangerous. Threats were ever-present for a would be traveler. Tales were told of of a fortuitous omen many might see while traveling through the swamps, a Green Rabbit. Sighting a Green Rabbit while traveling meant good fortune had blessed you and one had entered a relatively safe and peaceful area. Travelers would be able to stop, set up camp, rest and relax a bit before continuing on their journey. A Green Rabbit was a welcome sign for anyone traveling through rough and dangerous terrain of Eastern Europe's swamps.
